The Dale County Auburn Club was chartered by the Auburn Alumni Association in 1984 under the direction of Pete Mosley and Pam Sheffield. The club's first officers were President - Pam Sheffield
Vice President - Joe Godwin
Secretary - Jan Lisenby
Treasurer - Larry Pittman
There were 210 memberships collected the first year. Since that time the club has earned 7 awards given by the National Association.
The Pamela Wells Sheffield award is given each year at Auburn University in memory of the DCAC's first president, Pam Sheffield. That award has been given annually since 1992.
